WordPress is arguably the best-in-breed blogging platform available today, and is being used on campuses large and small. Thanks to its active development community, flexible architecture and ease-of-use, it is being adapted and morphed into many different types of tools, all the while remaining open source and free. More and more campuses (including ours) are turning to WordPress as a content management system, but its practically begging you to let it do more for your institution’s website, some of which may surprise you — think job postings, classifieds, alumni communities, heck even a learning management system. This session will highlight some of those uses and show you how WordPress could make your life (and your campus constituents’ lives) much easier.
